AGC of Greater Milwaukee, in
conjunction with several industry partners, is able to offer
members the option of taking many courses online. Online courses
offer students the convenience of anytime education. Students
are required to do a certain amount of work each week and to
keep up with their classmates. Online courses are no less
demanding than the in-classroom courses. The learning goals,
homework requirements, and participation of the students are
much the same as any traditional course.
Different
teaching techniques are used with online programs:
-
Lectures are in written or audio
formats
-
Classroom discussions occur on
web-based bulletin boards
-
Assignments are e-mailed to the
instructor for grading
-
Textbook materials are
supplemented with “field trips” to informative websites
