Purpose
Thanks to visionary
volunteer leadership, the AGC Education and Research
Foundation continues to provide a solid base of
educational and research programs that will prepare
tomorrow's constructors and educational partners for the
future. History

The AGC of Greater
Milwaukee Education and Research Foundation was founded in
the late 1970s to promote construction industry related
education and training efforts. Throughout the years,
Foundation grants have funded professional growth programs
for our contractor members, the development of technical
education programs, and craft career awareness efforts
whenever manpower development becomes an issue.

The AGC Golf Outing and
Christmas Party are the two fundraisers each year, when
individuals and firms donate cash, merchandise, or
services for the raffles, auctions, and door prizes.

The AGC of Greater
Milwaukee Education & Research Foundation routinely
supports construction education programs at Marquette
University, Milwaukee School of Engineering, The
University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, and several Milwaukee
high schools and area technical colleges. New
scholarships have been created at Marquette University and

Morgan McCardle,
recipient of Marquette University Skill, Integrity,
Responsibility Scholarship
Morgan
McCardle is a senior and co-op student at Marquette
University. She is enrolled in the College of
Engineering and is studying Civil Engineering with a
minor in Business Administration. Her
specialization is in Construction Engineering; which
enables her to take part in the design as well as the
construction aspect of projects. She is also
involved in Habitat for Humanity, the University
Ministry and is a Resident Assistant. |

Matthew Tadisch, recipient of MSOE Skill,
Integrity, Responsibility Scholarship
Matthew Tadisch, a
senior at MSOE recently received the AGC Skill, Integrity,
Responsibility Scholarship from the AGC Foundation. He is
double majoring in Architectural Engineering &
Construction Management. He wrote in a thank you to the
AGC, "I would like to express my sincerest gratitude to
you and the Associated General Contractors of Greater
Milwaukee for honoring me with the AGC Scholarship. It is
truly an honor to receive this award...As my school years
continue, I plan to further my studies in structural
engineering and construction management while continuing
to gain valuable experience in the ‘real’ world...My
future goals of working in the construction industry as
well as teaching at the college level will not be left
behind. With your help I know I will accomplish these
goals." |

Matthew Hellenthal, recipient of 2006 Robert J.
Caspari Memorial Scholarship
Matthew Hellenthal is a
third year Civil Engineering student at Marquette
University. He is currently involved in a co-op
program with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation.
He has also worked in the Civil Engineering Lab through
the work/study program. His campus involvement
includes Triangle Fraternity and membership in three
different honor societies. He chose Civil
Engineering because he has always had an interest in
construction and sees it as a way to contribute to his
community. He plans on going into project management
once he finishes with his degree. |
